Recently, a group of over 30 teens from Good News Church, Tacoma Washington embarked on an unforgettable trip to Kentucky, where they had the opportunity to visit two remarkable attractions: the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum.
The Ark Encounter Museum
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the Ark Encounter—a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark that powerfully brings the biblical account to life. As the teens stepped into this monumental structure, they were immediately captivated by its sheer scale and craftsmanship. But more than that, the Ark served as a spiritual journey.
Each deck of the Ark was thoughtfully designed to lead visitors deeper—not only into the historical and practical aspects of Noah’s obedience, but also into personal reflection. It was a beautiful reminder that the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, points to God’s plan of redemption through Christ. Each floor of the Ark Encounter led us one step closer to understanding God's holiness, our need for rescue, and the incredible grace found in a relationship with Him. By the end, we were left not just with head knowledge, but with heart conviction—a call to respond to God's invitation of salvation, just as Noah did in faith. The Ark wasn’t just a story from the past; it became a vivid illustration of the gospel, reminding us that today is the day of salvation, and Jesus is the door through which we must enter.
One of the most exhilarating experiences at the Ark Encounter was the zip line adventure. Soaring above the park, the teens felt a rush of adrenaline while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. It was a thrilling way to face your fears, bond with each other, and laugh. In that moment, courage was built, friendships were strengthened, and memories were made that will be talked about for years to come.
The Creation Museum
Next on the itinerary was the Creation Museum, where the teens explored exhibits that emphasized the relationship between science and biblical accounts of creation. Engaging displays, animatronic dinosaurs, and stunning dioramas sparked lively discussions among the group, allowing them to contemplate their beliefs in a contemporary context. The museum encouraged the youth to ask questions and seek answers, reinforcing the idea that faith and curiosity can coexist harmoniously.
Building Connections and Growing in Faith
Throughout the trip, the friendships among the teens blossomed. Shared experiences, whether they were navigating through the exhibits or cheering each other on during the zip line adventure, they created lasting memories.
The trip also provided a safe space for the teens to engage in discussions about their faith. With leaders from Good News Church guiding them, the teens were encouraged to share their thoughts, ask questions, and reflect on their personal journeys with God. This environment of openness and support allowed participants to deepen their faith and develop a stronger connection with one another.
