At the beginning of the year, Mission Boulevard Baptist Church, following its annual tradition, held its winter camp dedicated to rest, fellowship, and spiritual edification. It was a beautiful and especially close time of church fellowship away from the noise of the city — a time when participants were able not only to relax and connect with one another, but also to devote themselves to the study of God’s Word and prayer.
The camp took place from February 5–8 at the scenic Zephyr Point on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Approximately 140 people attended, including families, youth, and children. The beauty of nature, the majesty of the mountains, and the peaceful atmosphere contributed to spiritual renewal and sincere Christian fellowship.
Each day began with breakfast and informal fellowship, followed by prayer meetings and main worship services. Throughout the day, participants gathered around God’s Word for teaching, discussions, and reflection, while also enjoying time for rest. The youth had a separate program, and during free time children and families had their own activities. Shared meals, warm conversations, and musical worship created a special atmosphere that made the camp a truly blessed experience for the entire church community.
The camp speaker was Pastor Vitaliy Bak, specially invited from Minnesota. The church recognizes his special gift as a teacher — members deeply appreciate the depth, clarity, and structure with which he presents biblical topics. The main theme of the camp was “The Holy Spirit and His Gifts.” The messages explored the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit, the importance of spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church, and the responsibility of every believer to remain open to God’s work. It was noted that Pastor Vitaliy prepares diligently for his ministry, which brings abundant spiritual blessing to the church.
Mission Boulevard Baptist Church is a small congregation that especially values these three-day edifying retreats. Each year, the theme for the following camp is chosen in advance, and time for shared rest and spiritual growth is carefully planned. Such gatherings become a great encouragement for the entire church.
“These camps truly help us grow closer and deepen our faith. It is a time when God works in a special way in people’s hearts,” said Alexey Remezov, deacon and church secretary.
The winter camp became a time of strengthening families, deepening relationships within the congregation, and spiritual renewal. The Word that was sown will continue to bear fruit in the lives of the participants, inspiring them toward faithful service and devotion to God.
